Learn to be a Leader in the Business of Sport
The M.S. in Sport Management is a business‑driven, hands-on degree that prepares the next generation of sports industry leaders. One of the oldest and most established sport management programs in the U.S., it offers concentrations in Business Analytics (a STEM‑designated track) and Collegiate Athletic Administration. With access to real-world internships, mentorship from top-tier professionals, and a robust alumni network, students are prepared to take on strategic roles within the fast-paced sports world.
Sport Industry Network
Students in the M.S. in Sport Management program gain unparalleled access to industry leaders through assigned mentors, including athletic directors and general managers of professional teams. The program’s Professional Enrichment Series brings prominent sports figures—such as ESPN’s Chris Berman, MLB Commissioner Bud Selig, and Yankees GM Brian Cashman—directly to campus. With strong connections to top organizations like the NBA, MLB, MLS, WWE, and ESPN, as well as guidance from an engaged Sport Management Advisory Board, students benefit from mentorship, networking, and career-building opportunities that connect classroom learning to the dynamic world of sports.

- Students may choose between a general M.S. Sport Management degree and two concentrations: The M.S. Sport Management with a concentration in Business Analytics (36 credits and STEM designated) provides an in-depth framework for use of analytics and how data is driving critical decisions in the industry. The goal of this degree program is to enhance students’ quantitative and statistical skills (including predictive modeling and data management), build an understanding of the relationship between data and decisions, and develop the skills to communicate those relationships.
- The M.S. Sport Management with a concentration in Collegiate Athletic Administration (30 credits) is a focused degree designed to provide an understanding of the management of college athletic departments/programs.
- The general M.S. Sport Management degree (30 credits) allows the student to build a set of Sport Management and general business electives around the Sport Management core that reflect their particular interests and professional objectives.
